Storage and handling:
The special typical characteristics of the FIPRO panels have to be
considered during, storage, transport and handling:
Carry boards upright and handle them with a certain amount of care.
Machining:
FIPRO can easily be processed in any woodworking shop or factory,
with the same manufacturing methods normally used in working with
partition or insulation boards.
Panel joints:
When using butt joints, we recommend to use a heat-resistant silicate
glue. In case of using the FIPRO boards as partition walls, we recommend
to install the FIPRO boards in connection with Omega profiles or steel
splines.
Surface finishing:
FIPRO MS can be combined with virtually any materials usually used
in conjunction with chipboards. The information below is of general
nature. In any case, it is always necessary to carry out tests regarding
pressing, adhesive bonding and painting.
Painting and finishing:
FIPRO MS boards can be finished and painted with all usual paints
and finish coatings. To achieve best-possible quality, we recommend
to bond the boards first of all on both sides with sanded High Pressure
Laminate.
Application of textured finishes
and wall coverings:
FIPRO MS can be decorated with any of a great variety of available
wall paper and wall coverings. The FIPRO surface must be treated with
an appropriate sealer before any wall covering can be applied. To
achieve best-possible quality, we recommend to bond the boards first
of all on both sides with sanded High Pressure Laminate.

A base coat containing quartz sand should be applied first. The resin-based
finish is applied by hand in the usual manner and worked to achieve
the desired effect.
Adhesive formulas:
Use adhesive liquids which have a high solid content and contain very
little water.
Amount of adhesive applied:
As little as possible but evenly and depending on the material used.
Pressing conditions:
We recommend to bond with a cold block press. The pressure in the block
press has to be adapted to the properties of the FIPRO boards (we recommend
to make trial presses). In case of a hot press system, do not press
with temperatures of more than 50 - 60 °C for HPL or not more than
90 °C for veneer. With regard to specific glue or adhesive products
and their formula and processing instructions, contact your adhesives
supplier.
Press pressure 0.2 N/mm2
Veneering:
In principle, the veneering of FIPRO is subject to the same criteria
as boards made of wooden material. On the other hand, it is advisable
to carry out bonding tests, because the conditions are very difficult.
Facing with laminates:
Use adhesives with elastic properties. The best results are obtained
by the "cold method" (block press). Attention is drawn to
the special recommendations for the use or processing of decorative
laminates (International Commitee of Decorative Laminates Industry).
Further processing:
Further working of the panels (handling, trimming, cutting to size,
milling) are allowed only after 48 hours.
